Whether it’s your first Veganuary or you’re just looking to add some new meat-free meals to your rotation, there’s a bigger variety of meat alternatives available now than ever before. Ceara Carney, host of the eco-friendly living podcast Book of Leaves, notes that “it’s never been easier” to find plant-based meats.

“I’ve been vegetarian since 2006 and vegan since 2016 and I can’t even describe how fast options have become available for plant-based eating,” she says. “The aisles in supermarkets have gone from one tiny section on one shelf with just tofu, falafel and Quorn to whole sections full of meat alternatives in the frozen and refrigerated areas.”
