The Indo Daily: Mushroom murder investigation – The Erin Patterson poisoning case that is gripping Australia

Erin Patterson

Last summer a seemingly ordinary lunch gathering turned into a nightmare for an Australian family. Little did they realise that the food they were eating was laced with poisonous death cap mushrooms that would leave three dead and one fighting for their life in intensive care.

Soon authorities became involved and the person at the centre of their investigation was the cook – Erin Patterson, and the victims - they were her ex-husband’s parents and aunt.

As millions of eyes watch the resulting case in Australia, a web of intrigue and suspicion surrounds the events leading up to that fateful lunch.

Fionnán Sheahan is joined on the Indo Daily podcast by Brooke Grebert-Craig, journalist with the Herald Sun in Melbourne and host of the true-crime podcast series, The Mushroom Cook, to look at the story of Erin Patterson that is gripping Australia.
