Swift: Dublin is fast gaining a reputation for being expensive, and it can't seem to shake it off

Dublin is the third most expensive European city to go to a Taylor Swift gig, a new study has found.

The study revealed that aide from the sky-high cost of the concert tickets, spending a night in Dublin to attend one of the US superstar’s concerts will set fans back an average €158.03.

Dublin holds a joint third place with London when a night in a hotel, a taxi trip and eating out are taken into account, the study found.

Dublin has the joint second-highest price for a hotel, along with Amsterdam, as the average cost for one night in a hotel is €120.57 in both European cities.

Meanwhile, the cost of a meal in a mid-range Dublin restaurant is €19.90, which is the fourth most expensive compared to other European cities.

A taxi ride in Dublin might cost €17.56, the ninth most expensive price in comparison to other cities.

Swift plays three nights in Dublin’s Croke Park in June and out of all 18 European cities on her Eras tour, Zurich has been named the most expensive, as the night in the Swiss city costs approximately €213.66.

Zurich is followed by Amsterdam, the second most expensive European stop on Taylor’s tour, as the night in the Dutch capital costs €166.23.

Following Dublin’s and London’s joint place, the fourth most expensive is Edinburgh, with a night cost of €155.69.

The next on the list are Paris with a night costing €152.66, Milan with €140.62, Lisbon – €127.08, Lyon – €116.87, and Vienna with €115.70.

On the cheaper side, going to see Taylor Swift in Hamburg would cost €114.53, in Stockholm – €111.77, Liverpool – €111.21, Munich – €109.85, Madrid –€108.85, Cardiff – €104.18, and in Gelsenkirchen – €100.50.

Warsaw is the most affordable European city on the tour, with the night costing €63.62.

The study has been undertaken for betting company Jeffbet, which examined the average cost of a hotel for one night, the price of a meal in a mid-range restaurant, the cost of a bottle of water, and the cost of a five-mile taxi journey in each city.

Taylor Swift will be performing three sold-out shows at Aviva Stadium in Dublin on June 28, 29, and 30.
